System Error!

Dwarf Count 0

5th April 2017 – Martyn Hinson
The last couple of weeks has been a real marathon for the team with endless bug fixes and polishing. We hit a setback with the tutorial map which we felt needed a redesign before the Alpha Demo release, and we also decided the game needed a save feature! Other than that, things are going ahead as planned, and everything else that we want in the alpha demo is already present in the current build. With any luck, the alpha demo should be released within the next couple weeks.

The Dwarves of Glistentube!

livestream

22nd March 2017 – Martyn Hinson & Perry Monschau

Hello there fellow dwarves, elves, humans and/or other races! Just posting an update for those of you that missed our livestream on the 8th, you can now find the video on Youtube! We’d like to apologise for the wait, we noticed it had some audio/video syncing problems. After opening the bottom panel and inspecting the video’s inner workings, we promptly evicted the cheeky goblin that was sabotaging the synchronizer and now everything is working fine again! You can find the video here.

1st March 2017 – Martyn Hinson

Time for another update! So we’ve been hard at work getting things ready for the demo which unless something terrible happens should be released this month. We want to avoid setting a specific date because we want to be sure that we aren’t handing out a broken game! You will still be able to get hold of the demo via email through our mailing list once it is ready. A game about digging holes and beating up goblins!

BasicDescriptions.png

25th January 2017 – Martyn Hinson

Many of us had a rough time over Christmas due to all the bugs and illnesses floating around, but that hasn’t stopped us in our work! Since the start of the new year, the whole team has been hard at work over the last few weeks in order to get the alpha demo up and running. In preparation for the demo, we figured we should talk more about the game itself and how it should play!

The Dwarves of Glistenveld is an isometric 2.5D RTS with some sandbox and RPG elements. The game sees the player take control of one of five dwarf clans where they are tasked with retaking the city of Glistenborg that was taken away from them by the goblins. In this game, goblins are the main antagonists. They assassinated the old dwarf king, attacked the city and ran all the dwarves out of Glistenveld, driving them underground to scrape out a living in the old mines and caverns that lay beneath the earth. The players will have to collect resources to construct new units, buildings, and research new technologies; at the same time, they will be digging tunnels to find artefacts or new strategic paths to the goblins’ bases.

We’ve Moved!

img_2289

15th December – Martyn Hinson

Being an incubation company tied in with the Colchester Games Hub, we are sharing our new studio space alongside Teaboy Games, Sketchbook Games & Neverfall Studios.
The new studio is a big upgrade from our old studio (see picture below) and although we are excited to have finally moved, our old studio will be dearly missed. Luckily we didn’t have far to move as we are still based at the Knowledge Gateway. Just want to say thank you to the University of Essex for providing us with this great new space, and thank you to Shark Infested Custard and the Eastern Enterprise Hub for giving us this opportunity to work alongside some amazingly talented individuals!
